Baseball: 

Peru started the week with a road game against Manchester. The game was a true pitching duel, with both Peru and Manchester’s pitchers throwing complete games. #4 Ian Potts threw 7 innings, allowing 6 hits, no runs, 1 walk, and 4 K’s. #9 Reis Bellar went 2-3. #10 Logan Gatliff went 1-2. #1 Gavin Eldridge went 1-3, #4 Ian Potts went 1-3, and #6 Fox Huppenthal went 1-3. Peru beat Manchester 1-0.

Peru played in another conference game on Wednesday, this time taking on Wabash. #10 Logan Gatliff pitched a complete game, throwing 7 innings, giving up 4 hits, 1 run, 1 earned run (1.00 ERA), 2 walks, and 12 K’s. #4 Ian Potts went 2-4, and #11 Matthew Roettger went 1-2 with a double. #1 Gavin Eldridge went 1-3, #8 Bryce Hill went 1-3, and #9 Reis Bellar went 1-3. Peru beat Wabash 4-1.

Peru took on Oak Hill for their first game of the Miami County Classic. #11 Matthew Roettger started the game for the Tigers, and threw 5 innings, allowing 8 hits, 6 runs, 6 earned runs (8.40 ERA), no walks, and 6 K’s. #21 Ryne Butt came in for relief and pitched 2 innings, giving up 2 hits, 1 run, 1 earned run (3.50 ERA), and a walk. #8 Bryce Hill went 1-2. #1 Gavin Eldridge went 1-3, and #10 Logan Gatliff went 1-3. #9 Reis Bellar went 1-4. Peru lost to Oak Hill 3-7.

Peru took on county rival Maconaquah for the 3rd place game in the Miami County Classic. #3 Isaac Braley was the starter for the Tigers, pitching 4.2 innings, allowing 2 hits, 4 runs, 4 earned runs (6.00 ERA), 2 walks, and a strikeout. #8 Bryce Hill came in for relief and pitched 1.1 innings, giving up 3 hits, 2 runs, 2 earned runs (10.50 ERA), 1 walk, and a strikeout. #4 Ian Potts was the last pitcher for the Tigers, throwing 1 inning and allowing no Brave hits or runs, and getting 2 strikeouts. #1 Gavin Eldridge went 2-3 with a walk, #10 Logan Gatliff went 2-3 with a double, and #11 Matthew Roettger went 2-3. #2 Cooper Baldwin went 1-3. “Once again the Lady Tigers rode a singles sweep to score a 3-2 win against Northfield and remain undefeated in the TRC. In fact, the singles spots did not lose a game as Mackey Hyde, Lauren Boyer, and Emma Eldridge all won 6-0, 6-0 at #1, #2, and #3 singles respectively.

Northfield won both doubles spots against Peru’s #1 tandem of Kara Baker and Esme Flores and the #2 team of Caidance Luster and Cameryn Raber.

The Lady Tigers travel to Marion for a Tuesday match.”

“The Lady Tigers traveled to Marion for a Tuesday match with the Giants. Peru swept the doubles as the #2 team of Cameryn Raber and Esme Flores and the  #1 tandem of Lauren Boyer and Mackey Hyde emerged victorious.

Marion won all of the singles spots as Peru’s #1 Emma Eldridge, #2 Kara Baker, and #3 Caidance Luster were defeated by the Giants.

The Lady Tigers are next in action at Manchester for a TRC matchup on Wednesday.”

Peru’s Mackey Hyde won #1 singles 6-0. 6-0/

Lauren Boyer won a three set thriller at #2 singles with a score of 0-6, 6-3, 7-5 to deliver her opponent’s first loss of the season.

The #3 singles spot was contested by Emma Eldridge, and Peru lost this point 1-6, 1-6.

The #1 doubles tandem of Kara Baker and Esme Flores lost 0-6, 0-6, and the #2 doubles team of Cameryn Raber and Caidance Luster lost 0-6, 1-6. 

The ladies are next in action on Thursday when they travel to Whitko. “

“The Tigers were at Dykeman Park on Thursday to take on Logansport and Western. Western won the three way match with a team score of 173, followed by Logansport with 176 and Peru with 192. Leading the Tigers was Mason Camden with 44. Other counting scores were Maddox Bretzman with 47, Karter Schwartz with 49, and Bryson Ragland with 52. 

Peru is at Rozella Ford on Saturday for the TRC tournament. Play begins at 7:45.”

“The Tigers were at Rozella Ford Saturday for the TRC tournament. The team endured a rainy start to the round and posted one of their best team scores of the season with 385. Karter Schwartz led the team with a career low 86 followed by Mason Camden with a career low 91. Other scores for Peru were Bryson Ragland with 103, and Maddox Bretzman and Nick Kiefer both with 105. 

Peru returns to the course Tuesday at Rock Hollow against Maconaquah and Cass. The match starts at 4:30.”
