Girls Basketball: Peru took on rival Maconaquah in the first round of the sectional tournament hosted by Norwell. Maconaquah took the lead early, leading 8-11 after the 1st quarter. Peru battled back at halftime and 25-21. Peru couldn’t get any offense going during the 3rd quarter and was down going into the 4th quarter, 28-31. Peru battled all the way back and won the game, 44-42. They advanced to the 2nd round to take on host Norwell. The Lady Tigers were led by #4 Brianna Bennett with 16 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals. #23 Addison Robbins had 10 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal. #30 Brooklyn Garner had 7 points, 4 rebounds, 3 steals, an assist, and a block. #10 Cameryn Raber had 6 points, 2 rebounds, and a steal. #5 Emma Eldridge had 5 points, 3 steals, 2 assists, and a rebound. #2 Kaylene Kirk had 2 rebounds. #22 Maddie Nordman had a rebound. #20 Emily Ream only had 1 foul. / Peru took on Norwell for the 2nd round of the sectional. Wrestling: Peru advanced 5 wrestlers from Regionals to Semi-States. At 120 lbs, Brayden Gibson placed 4th and advanced. At 126 lbs, Deuce Baldwin placed 4th and advanced. At 138 lbs, Cooper Baldwin won the Regional Championship and advanced. At 220 lbs, Keyton Ousley placed 4th and advanced. At 285 lbs, Trevi Hillman-Conley placed 2nd and advanced.
