Peru held the lead after the first quarter 13-7, but Rochester exploded for a 27-28 lead at halftime. Rochester kept ahead after the 3rd quarter 38-44, and Peru’s comeback wasn’t enough and Rochester knocked off the Tigers, and Peru was eliminated from the conference championship. Maconaquah beat Manchester and a three-way tie for 1st was no more, and Tippecanoe Valley was outright TRC Champions. Wrestling: Cooper Baldwin represented Peru High School at the IHSAA Wrestling State Finals on Friday. He battled with Gavyn Whitehead of New Castle. Cooper may have lost the match, but Peru won’t forget this amazing run for Peru. Cooper ended his season at 36-5, TRC, Sectional, and Regional champion, and 3rd place at Semi-State, all at 138 lbs.
