Baseball: 

Peru took on Northwestern at home on Wednesday. #10 Logan Gatliff was the starter for the Tigers, and took the loss. He gave up 3 earned runs (6.30 ERA) through 3.1 innings and 6 hits and 2 walks with 3 K’s. #21 Ryne Butt was the first Peru reliever, going for 2.2 innings giving up 4 earned runs (10.50 ERA) for 2.2 innings. He allowed 3 hits, 6 walks, and 3 K’s. #5 Jackson Rogers was Peru’s 3rd reliever with 4 earned runs (42.00 ERA) through .2 innings with 2 hits and a home run allowed with 2 walks and a strikeout. #3 Isaac Braley was the Tiger’s final reliever with .1 innings pitched and no other stats. #21 Ryne Butt went 2-2 with an RBI. #2 Cooper Baldwin went 2-3. #9 Reis Bellar went 2-3 with an RBI with 1 run scored and a double. #4 Ian Potts was 2-3 with 3 runs scored, 2 RBI, and a double and a home run. #5 Jackson Rogers hit a double and scored a run while going 1-3. Peru lost 6-14.

Peru traveled to Delphi to take on the Oracles on Thursday. #11 Matthew Roettger was the starter for the Tigers and grabbed the win on a 5 IP, 7 H, 3 ER (4.20 ERA), 2 BB, and 3 K’s performance. #7 Jaxson Manriquez came in for relief at the top of the 6th inning and went for 1.2 IP with 5 H, 1 ER (4.20 ERA) 1 BB, and 2 K’s. #4 Ian Potts came in for the last out getting .1 IP. #10 Logan Gatliff went 1-2, #11 Matthew Roettger went 2-4 with 2 RBI and a double. #1 Gavin Eldridge went 1-3 with a double and a run scored, #5 Jackson Rogers went 1-3 with a run scored, and #7 Jaxson Manriquez went 1-3 with an RBI and a run scored. #2 Cooper Baldwin went 1-4 with an RBI, and #8 Bryce Hill went 1-4. Softball

Peru hosted Twin Lakes on Tuesday. Jaylah Harlan went for a complete game, getting 6.2 IP with 6 hits, 0 ER, 3 walks, and 8 K’s. Annika Malone went 2-3 with an RBI, a double, and a run scored. Jaylah Harlan went 2-3 with a double. Ellie Owens went 1-3 with 2 RBI, Emily Ream went 1-3 with a run scored, Eve Uttinger went 1-3 with an RBI and 2 runs scored, and Lily Steele went 1-3 with a run scored. Peru beat Twin Lakes 5-3.

Peru traveled to Mississinewa on Wednesday. Maddie Nordman went 3.1 innings with 10 H, 7 ER (14.70 ERA) with 1 BB. Kyannah Correll went .2 innings with 8 hits, 5 ER (52.50 ERA), 1 BB, and 1 strikeout. Eve Uttinger went 1-1 with a run scored. Jaylah Harlan went 1-2 with an RBI, double and a run scored. Lilly Steele went 2-4 with 2 runs scored. 

Peru traveled to Caston on Saturday for a doubleheader. Jaylah Harlan threw another complete game, going for 7.2 innings, with 10 H, 4 ER (3.65 ERA), 5 BB, and 12 K’s on 137 pitches. Lilly Steele went 3-4 with 2 RBI, a home run, and a double with 3 runs scored. Emily Ream went 2-4 with 2 RBI and a double, Kyannah Correll went 2-4 with a run scored. Maddie Nordman went 1-3 with an RBI. Alilyanah Johnson went 1-4 with 2 RBI and a double, Annika Malone went 1-4 with a double and a run scored, Ellie Owens went 1-4 with a run scored. Peru lost to Caston 8-7 in 8 innings.

“Peru Lady Tigers watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 6-1 loss to the Caston Comets on Saturday. Caston was able to get four runs on the board in the 1st inning. The Tigers never gave up and were able to earn five hits on the game. Freshman Lilly Steele led the game offensively with 2 hits. Freshman Molly Mann, Junior Katy Converse and Junior Savannah Berkheiser each secured one hit apiece while Sophomore Ila Johnson chipped in with an RBI. 

Senior Maddie Nordman took the mound and held her own, striking out two batters, only walking one, and giving up nine hits to a very strong Comets offense. Freshman Molly Mann caught a great game behind the plate, not letting much get by. 

The Tigers look to bounce back this week playing Oak Hill at Home Monday, April 17 @ 5:30pm.”

Girls Tennis

“The Lady Tigers pulled off the singles sweep to open the season with a 3-2 victory over the visiting Huntington North Vikings. 

Peru’s #1 singles Mackey Hyde and #2 singles Lauren Boyer posted 6-0, 6-1 and 6-1, 6-1 victories respectively. Emma Eldridge completed the singles sweep for the Lady Tigers at #3 singles with a 6-3, 6-2 score. 

Esme Flores and Kara Baker contested the #1 doubles spot for the Lady Tigers and were defeated 4-6 and 3-6.

Peru’s #2 doubles tandem of Cameryn Raber and Caidance Luster lost the spot with a 3-6, 0-6 score. 

The Lady Tigers are next in action on Saturday, April 15 at the Plymouth Invite. The day will consist of three matches at every spot and play begins at 9:30 am.” 

“The Lady Tigers contested the Plymouth Invite on Saturday; this event featured three matches at each spot and involved Plymouth, Crown Point, Fairfield, LaVille, Tippecanoe Valley, Kankakee Valley and Triton.

Peru garnered wins in every spot on the way to a fourth place finish behind Fairfield, Crown Point, and Plymouth.

Mackey Hyde and Lauren Boyer were champions of the #1 doubles flight with wins over Kankakee Valley, Tippecanoe Valley, and a tiebreak win over Plymouth in the final.

Peru’s #2 doubles tandem of Kara Baker and Esme Flores finished third in their flight with wins over LaVille and Kankakee Valley.

Emma Eldridge and Cameryn Raber went 1-2 on the day at #1 singles and #2 singles respectively for the Lady Tigers.

Caidance Luster and Lou Lou Sanceau split #3 singles duties for Peru with Sanceau picking up a victory.

The Lady Tigers open TRC play on Tuesday, April 18 at Thrush Courts.”

Boys Golf

Peru took on Eastern at Rock Hollow. Counting scores was Karter Schwartz with 48 (Medalist), Bryson Ragland with 52, Maddox Bretzmen and Nick Kiefer scored a 57. Peru beat Eastern 222-214.
