Baseball:

Peru hosted conference opponent Whitko on Monday. #11 Matthew Roettger was the Tiger’s starter and pitched for 4.2 innings, giving up 4 hits, 3 runs, 3 earned runs (4.50 ERA), 6 walks, and 5 K’s. #4 Ian Potts came in for relief, throwing 1.2 innings allowing 4 hits, 3 runs, no earned runs, 3 walks, and 3 K’s. #21 Ryne Butt finished the game with .2 innings pitched. #6 Fox Huppenthal went 2-3 with a double. #9 Reis Bellar went 2-4, and #11 Matthew Roettger went 1-2 with a walk. Peru lost to Whitko 1-6.

Peru took on another conference opponent on Wednesday, this time against Tippecanoe Valley. #10 Logan Gatliff was the Tiger’s starter, and he pitched 4.2 innings, with 1 hit allowed, 5 runs, 2 earned runs (3.00 ERA), 4 walks, and 8 K’s. #21 Ryne Butt came in for relief and pitched 2.1 innings with 3 hits, 1 run, 1 earned run (3.00 ERA), no walks and 2 K’s. #21 Ryne Butt was 1-1 with a double. #9 Reis Bellar was 2-3 with a walk. #8 Bryce Hill ws 1-2. #2 Cooper Baldwin was 1-3. #5 Jackson Rogers was 1-4 with a double, #10 Logan Gatliff was 1-4, and #11 Matthew Roettger was 1-4. Softball:

Alilyanah Johnson went 2-4, Jaylah Harlan went 2-4, Lily Steele went 2-4 with a triple, and Molly Mann went 1-2 with a walk. Kyannah Correll went 1-3 with a walk, and Maddie Nordman went 1-3 with a walk. Annika Malone went 1-4 with a double, and Ellie Owens went 1-4. Peru beat Whitko 12-10.

Peru hosted Tippecanoe Valley on Wednesday. Alilyanah Johnson was the Tiger’s starter, throwing 4 innings, allowing 9 hits, 6 runs, 5 earned runs (8.75 ERA), 1 walk, and 1 strikeout. Maddie Nordman came in as relief and pitched 3 innings, 5 hits, 7 runs, 2 earned runs (4.67 ERA), and a walk. Emily Ream went 3-3. “The Lady Tigers hosted the Tippecanoe Valley Vikings on Tuesday and scored a 3-2 win with the sweep of the singles spots.

Peru’s Mackey Hyde scored a 6-0, 6-2 victory at #1 singles while Lauren Boyer and Emma Eldridge both posted 6-3, 6-0 wins at #2 and #3 singles respectively.

The #1 doubles tandem of Kara Baker and Cameryn Raber lost 3-6, 4-6, and Peru’s #2 doubles surrendered the spot with a 0-6, 2-6 score.

With the win, the Lady Tigers remain unbeaten in the TRC and will travel to Logansport on Wednesday to face the Berries.”

“The Lady Tigers once again swept the singles spots to beat the Logansport Berries 3-2 Wednesday.  

Peru’s #1 singles Mackey Hyde, #2 singles Lauren Boyer, and #3 singles Emma Eldridge all won 6-0, 6-0; Hyde pulled off the golden set in the second set, winning 24 points without surrendering a point to take the set.

The Berries swept the doubles spot as Peru’s Kara Baker and Esme Flores lost 0-6, 0-6 at #1 doubles, and the #2 duo of Cameryn Raber and Caidance Luster lost 1-6, 1-6.

The ladies are next in action on Thursday with a road match at Western High School.”

“The Lady Tigers traveled to Western on Thursday evening and lost 2-3.

Emma Eldridge turned in a strong performance for the Peru at the #1 singles spot with a 6-2, 6-2 win.

Mackey Hyde and Lauren Boyer secured the #1 doubles point for the Tigers with a 6-0, 6-0 score.

Peru lost the #2 and #3 singles 0-6, 0-6 with Cameryn Raber and Caidance Luster at each spot respectively.

Kara Baker and Esme Flores dropped the #2 doubles spot for Peru 2-6, 2-6.

The ladies will contest the Homestead Invite on Saturday; three matches will be played at each spot in the eight team event.”

“The Lady Tigers tennis team traveled to Homestead on Saturday to contest the Homestead Invite. Peru played three separate team matches against Concordia, Mississinewa, and Franklin Central. All matches were started at a score of 2-2 per the host format. The Lady Tigers lost all three as a team; results are below.

Peru 1, Concordia 4

Winners for Peru were Mackey Hyde and Lauren Boyer at #1 singles.

Concordia took the points at #1 singles, #2 singles, #3 singles, and #2 doubles against Peru’s Emma Eldridge, Cameryn Raber, Caidance Luster, and the team of Esme Flores and Kara Baker respectively. 

Peru 1, Mississinewa 4

Winners for the Lady Tigers were Mackey Hyde and Lauren Boyer at #1 doubles. Emma Eldridge fought to a match tiebreaker at #1 singles, ultimately losing a close match.

Peru’s Kara Baker, Esme Flores, and tandem of Cameryn Raber and Caidance Luster lost at #2 singles, #3 singles, and #2 doubles respectively.

Peru 2, Franklin Central 3

Winners for Peru include Kara Baker at #2 singles, and the #1 doubles duo of Mackey Hyde and Lauren Boyer.

Franklin Central took the points at #1 singles and #2 doubles against Peru’s Emma Eldridge and the tandem of Cameryn Raber and Caidance Luster.

The Lady Tigers are next in action on Tuesday as they travel to Maconaquah.”

“The Tigers were at the Marion Elks Golf Course Tuesday to take on Marion. Peru was victorious with a season low 173 to Marion’s 227. Peru was led by medalist Mason Camden with a round of 39. Other counting scores were Karter Schwartz with 43, Maddox Bretzman with 44, and Bryson Ragland with 47. 

The team is in action again Thursday against Kokomo at the Kokomo Country Club. The match is scheduled to start at 4:30.”

“Peru was on the road again Thursday against Kokomo at the Kokomo Country Club. The team competed well, but Kokomo ended up winning the match 182-190. Mason Camden led the Tigers with 43, followed by Karter Schwartz and Nick Kiefer each with 46, Bryson Ragland with 55, Maddox Bretzman with 57, and Bane Gilbert with 61. 

Peru hosts the Hall of Fame Invitational this Saturday at Rock Hollow. The tournament begins at 10:30.”

“Peru was fortunate to once again host the Hall of Fame Invitational at Rock Hollow this past Saturday. Seven teams currently ranked in the top 20 in the state (as well as several others who had been ranked at one point this spring) comprised one of the deepest tournament fields of the season. Hamilton Southeastern came out on top by one stroke over Bloomington South and Peyton Blackard of Gibson Southern was medalist with a 4-under 68. 

Leading Peru was Karter Schwartz with 100. Other scores for the Tigers were Mason Camden with 104, Maddox Bretzman with 105, Bryson Ragland with 109, and Nick Kiefer with 121.

Peru returns to the course Tuesday, May 2 at the Joe Harris Invite at Rozella Ford in Warsaw. The invite begins at 4:15.”

“The Boy’s track team finished in 2nd place over North Miami and below Lewis Cass.  We were missing one of our top scorers on the evening but had some kids step in and do a wonderful job.  We continue to improve each meet and that is what we are looking for going into the championship portion of our season.  Placers for this meet are as follows:

“The Peru Lady Tigers ran at Lewis Cass tonight in a triangular meet with North Miami. In this meet, they score out to 4 places in individual events and 2 places in relays.
