Weekly Sports Roundup 11/19/22 – 11/25/22

Girls Basketball: The Lady Tigers took on Northfield at home on Monday. They were down at halftime 19-20, and kept up through the 3rd quarter and were still only down by 1 point, 34-35. The shots wouldnt fall during the 4th quarter except for a buzzer beater 3 pointer by Addison Robbins and the Tigers fell 45-51, and moved to 1-5 and 1-2 in the TRC. Leading the Tigers was Brianna Bennett with 16 points, 3 rebounds, 7 assists and 3 steals. Emma Eldridge scored 12 points, and Addison Robbins scored 10 points. Emily Ream scored 3 points, and Kaylene Kirk and Brooklyn Garner scored 2 points.

Boys Basketball: Peru started their season on Wednesday taking on Logansport. Peru fired out to a hot start leading 34-8 at the half. Peru struggled during the 3rd quarter but still held a large lead 45-22. Peru held on strong and beat the Berries 61-28. Peru moved to 1-0. Leading the Tigers was Matthew Roettger with 24 points, shooting 5 for 7 from 3 point range, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block. Alex Ross had a very great day putting up a double-double. He scored 19 points, grabbing 11 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and 1 block. Braxten Robbins put up 11 points, and 1 rebound, assist, steal, and block. Gavin Eldridge scored 3 points, 1 rebound, 8 assists, and 1 steal. Ian Potts scored 2 points, and 2 steals. Xavier Turner scored 2 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 assist. Jaxson Manriquez had 1 rebound.

Wrestling: Peru traveled to Manchester on Tuesday. They won 8 out of the 14 matches played on the day, beating Manchester 48-34. Peru is 2-0 on the season.
