How much sleep do Peru JR/SR High School students get on average?

Peru Jr/Sr High School students were asked about the number of hours of sleep they get at night, and you can easily see the difference in what each grade gets. Isaiah Korba, a freshman at Peru Jr/Sr High School said, “I get about 5 hours of sleep. I go to bed at 1:00 am and wake up at 6:00 am.” Sophomore Kendall Hovermale said, ”I get about 6 to 7 hours of sleep depending on what time I go to bed.” Junior Jordyn Ulery says, ”I get about 6 hours of sleep.” Senior Aidyn Mathis said, ”I get around 8 hours of sleep, sometimes 7.”

The median number of hours each student sleeps from the four asked is 6 hours of sleep at night. These students, and probably many others, get less hours of sleep than they are supposed to get at night. This can be one of the reasons Peru students are tired when they come to school. Sleep is important to the body, so not getting enough sleep at night can affect how students concentrate at school.
